Welcome to the Petrey Memorial Baptist Church website. My name is Sam Stacy and I am the pastor of Petrey Memorial here in the beautiful Appalachian Mountain of Southeastern Kentucky in the city of Hazard. My wife Lesa and I started our ministry here in December of 2020 after serving the past 5 years as pastor of Lothair Baptist Church. Lesa and I are glad you have chosen to spend a few minutes looking around our newly remodeled website, discovering what our church and congregation is all about. Petrey can best described as a church that first and foremost loves our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We are tasked with spreading God’s love to a lost and dying world. That means we worship God in spirit and in truth. We believe that prayer in church is essential and is necessary throughout our lives. We love all people lost and saved and truly believe that everyone is someone and that we are all loved by God no matter our standing in life.

Our priority is that everyone who we come in contact with will feel loved and welcomed at Petrey and be shown that love from the moment they enter our doors. Once here, we pray that people will hear from God and come to a saving knowledge of Jesus as their Savior. We want every single person to experience God’s amazing grace. Come as you are, with all your baggage, and don’t worry about the clothes you wear because you will be loved by us because Jesus first love us without reservation.
